ABEC rating explains how accurate the bearings are. Normally ABEC 9 bearings would be very high quality, precise, delicate, rotate well and fast. However, do not recommend using ABEC 9 bearings in skateboards, because the sharp and jerky movements of the skateboard easily ruin the bearings. For skateboarding, getting an ABEC 5 or 7 (ratings are just odd numbers) is very good. Anything below ABEC 5 is not a good idea as you start sacrificing too much precision.
