Review on 🥤 Sunseeke Silicone Straws Set: Odorless, 12 Reusable Drinking Straws, Carry Pouch, Cleaning Brushes – Food Grade Platinum Silicone by Lauren Lewis

Bought these specifically for work. During the Halloween season (from mid-September to the first week of November) I work as a scarecrow in a haunted house. Over the years, I've learned that it's good to have a few drinks every night: a bottle of water with a built-in straw, a bottle of soda, and an energy drink. It's very physical work so sweating is ok, and I'm past the age where I can stay up and stay up until 3am without the help of caffeine. However, this work involves a lot of makeup. Where I work they usually retouch any skin that shows up when we're in costume so that we look completely inhuman. This makes it difficult for me to drink Gatorade or an energy drink without ruining my makeup. The water bottle is easy because it has a built-in straw. It followed that the straws would brighten up the other two, but I didn't want to use (and then throw away) a whole bunch of disposable straws over the course of a season. And since the Gatorade bottle has a cap, a flexible straw, i.e. silicone, works best. I needed at least two to make it easier to work with both containers at the same time. I usually line up all three drinks and immediately take them out, opening two sealed ones and sticking straws in. That way I don't have to deal with it once the show opens. I confess that this package was not my first choice. It came down to 100% cases. The straws themselves are great. I think it's great that there are so many. If I don't have time to wash them by the end of the weekend (we work Friday through Sunday), it's not the end of the world. And they're long enough to stick over the rim of a Gatorade bottle when I remove the cap. Which is good because I don't have to put my fingers on anything I'm about to put in my mouth. The landscape is very dusty, which is typical of haunted houses as dust is almost a natural decoration. But with the dust and makeup I have on it, I really don't want my fingers touching anything that gets in my mouth. I've used them all season and none of them have even faded. The water bottle straw is painted black and red with airbrush and stage veil, but they have no stains. The only major downside to this set is the cases. I'm really glad it *has* covers because it really makes things easier. However, they do not close. So if I put them in the little insulated lunch bag that I carry all my drinks in and keep them cold until I start brewing, I really have to worry about dust and dirt from the set ending up on the straws. . Putting them in a zipped bag solves that problem and since I only put clean stuff in them I can use the same bag all season long. But part of the point of reusable straws was to get rid of plastic waste. It also looks like it would be very easy for a manufacturer to fix. Therefore I can only give 4 stars and not 5 because of the case design.
