Review on INA446 Surf-Wind-Long Board Locking Roof Carrier with Pads - Securely Holds (1) Kayak, (1) Canoe, or (2) SUP/Wind/Surf-Boards by Peter Zouhair

Flexible loading system, easy to use, quicker locking than saddle/belt systems

The Inno roof rack was recommended by a kayaker friend who uses it to transport a sea kayak. I already have a Yakima luggage system with deckhand saddles to carry a sea kayak, but I needed something to carry a surf kayak and/or paddle board. I was able to connect the Inno-Rack to my existing Yakima round bars and found it much easier and quicker to load and secure kayaks with the Inno system than the saddle/belt system. The Inno should also offer the flexibility to carry all of my kayaks and paddleboards. With the previous build of Deckhand saddles I could only use them to tow a sea kayak and had to detach them to tow a surf kayak or paddleboard. However, I haven't actually carried anything other than a surf kayak for the month I've had the Inno-Rack system, so I can't give feedback on how it handles transporting a sea kayak or paddleboard yet. It is expected to work just as well with a sea kayak as it does with a surf kayak as my friend uses one to transport her 17ft sea kayak and highly recommends it. I saved money by shopping through Revain Warehouse. The device I received was in the original packaging that had been previously opened. The trunk was partially assembled by the previous owner but looks like it has never been used. Easily collected and mounted on the car. It's a bit tricky to set up and install, so check out the video Inno has. Once installed it is very easy to use and I am very happy with its efficiency when transporting a surf kayak. The build quality of the stand seems solid, although the cables are a bit flimsy. Haven't towed anything at street speed yet, but the surf kayak has been reliably towed at local speeds of up to 45 mph. I'll be hauling a 16ft sea kayak at highway speed next week and will try to update the review with additional feedback. At the moment, my only concern is the durability of the system's cables and rubber parts, which I'm not sure can be replaced if they become worn or broken. Replacement parts are available for the Yakima system if needed, but with this system Inno seems to have to order a whole new system if something breaks or wears out. Hopefully this will be a moot point as my friend has been using his rack for at least a few years so maybe durability won't be an issue.
