View it over the Sink Version

I went to Home Depot and bought two trash cans (to build an igloo with the kids - enough snow for Pita, but not enough to build an igloo to build ) so buckets sit. My daughter wanted an aquarium for her birthday and we got 36 gallons. one. I have two 3500 gallon koi ponds that I have gradually learned to care for, but the tank was new. It works great with garage buckets. (I screwed it up and the arrow on the bulb wasn't going in the right direction - doh - quick fix) I put down a layer (?) of whatever it was called so the plants could grow under the gravel. So I was concerned that it would suck out the gravel and expose this material. nope It moves the gravel a bit but leaves it (more or less) in place. BUT OMG - shit. We had the tank for about 1 1/2 weeks, I was amazed at how much food the thing sucked up. Of course, the fish also see this and try to eat through a transparent tube. (Be careful when inserting the tube as some of my bolder fish walk right past it and I worry about sucking them up). bucket or pail. BUY THIS OVER THE SINK VERSION: I always use pond mud to feed my garden plants. It works GREAT. That's how I do it with this machine. Instead of dumping all that free fertilizer down the drain, I take it out and pour it into the flower beds. (I'm not sure if it's INSIDE the house) as the smell might be too strong. Cons: My hose is kinked - doesn't really affect flow, but there's no way to fix it. SUMMARY: Glad I got this and fought the urge to buy a production model.

  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
