Please note this requires a 9V BATTERY, WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED. We are on day 1 and it seems to be working. Set this up outside by the back door and my dog barked a few times but definitely reacted to the sound (which I can't hear). Instead of howling and demanding entry, he appears to be checking it out and barks a few times instead of his incessant barking. Here's a photo from my window of him looking out at the yard and contemplating his life choices. As soon as he came to the door and sat down quietly, I treated him and let him in.
