Great adjustable charging station

This is a great adjustable charging station. To address some of the other negative comments straight away, this unit supports charging outputs up to 50 amps, but is only hardwired with 4 AWG wire. With the supplied plug, the output current is limited to 40 amps. It is easy to unplug and connect the device to an electrician. Restrictions: A smartphone is required and the app can only connect to 1 home charger per ChargePoint app/account. Requires good WiFi coverage at installation site. Installation should be carried out by a licensed electrician and it is important that you decide how much charging power you need so that they can install the correct switch and wiring. If you have a 6-50 or 14-50 outlet, you can install it yourself since no wiring is required other than connecting the charging cable. My rig is for my Tesla Model 3 with a 48 amp charger, so I hardwired it with the correct cord and switch (60 amp). and removed the 6-50 connector as it only fits 40 amp output. Once plugged in and powered on, you must connect to the device using your smartphone and use the ChargePoint app to connect and set up the device. During setup, you tell the app which switch was set (choose 60 amps, not 48 amps, in my case). If you don't set up the charger, it will be limited to a slow value of 16 amps. Once the app is set up and connected to my Tesla Model 3 with the J1772 car adapter, the Tesla charges very quickly with over 11kW continuous power, around 50%. faster than my original ChargePoint home. Most cars are limited to 32 amps, but some newer models support higher speeds. A slower charging car works fine even if you set the device setting to the fastest charging speed, it's just not necessary. When the car is charging, you can use the ChargePoint app to check the status and overall performance, as well as an estimated cost based on your electric utility. All in all, this is a great consumer product that is easy to use. Download the installation guide to see the supported modes.
