This pen saves those who drive with one hand (necessary or voluntary). My wife is disabled and requires the use of manual controls. I taught myself to drive by hand for convenience and safety reasons. I have to say I enjoy using this grip when riding with or without manual controls. This forces you to use your palm in a much more comfortable position than traditional suicide grips and there is less chance of actual suicide. I try to delay it as much as possible with ergonomics. This knob is so well designed that I don't have to worry about it on longer rims. I used the included double sided tape and had no issues with pen movement. No screws! only buy! UPDATE 12/26/2018: Handle detached from the base after about 6 months. I still use it but it's a bit unsafe as the handle can bounce off with a little jerk. I'm pretty sure I can reattach it with glue, although I put a star for durability. UPDATE 2019-09-12: I finally reattached the handle with Gorilla Glue and it's holding up well. for several months with no sign of further detachment. love it though!
