If you think WSKTS is a good system, all straps are just consumables. You use them, they wear out, you change them and start the cycle again. There's no use complaining that you think they wear out too quickly. You'll find that of the three basic grit belts, this is the fine grit belt you'll be using the most. And of course this belt "wears out” the fastest. You'll also likely find that after you've initially sharpened your knives, you'll be using this strap almost exclusively to hold the blade. So accept that this is how things will go and stock up on this beautiful type of belt. It does an excellent job of sharpening and maintaining a thin edge. my last thought I'm happy with that.
