stoner worked fine for a while, then the blade broke off where it was attached to the butt. I hope it was a defective blade and not normal for the product. Reading the reviews I didn't see any complaints of this nature so I suspect it could be something that happened along the way (broken but not broken) or it was just a defective part. Anyway, I sent the device back and ordered another one, which in itself caused some problems; Firstly, I obviously won't have a plum pitter for a week or so, and secondly, to get a replacement pitter without paying the shipping cost, I had to order a $35 pitter, and the pitter was smaller than this one. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the exchange goes smoothly because it was great when it worked properly. With a 5 year warranty on this product I certainly expect the job to take more than a few minutes.
