Works like a charm! I do a lot of running in the woods of the Pacific Northwest (USA), collecting soap and just poking at the same time. I've been doing this my whole life and have always had a radio so I can communicate with lumberjacks to make sure I can/will get out of their way if they go out with a load etc. I also monitor the 911 channel while I'm there to "help" when I can, where I can and relay information to the local emergency services when needed. In the past all my KBs were wired, I had a few windows blown and KBs were stolen. So I didn't want to plug in the newest one because I want to take it out of the car and stick it in my heavy tool box when I park my pickup or otherwise leave it unattended. I bought this adapter along with the magnetic antenna and they help. I had to cut the plug and plug the cigarette lighter into my computer, but hey, it works like a champ and everything is very portable. I recommend it if you're looking for a portable feature.
