I would give this product 5 starts but the hour hand I needed in the kit turned out to be slightly bent with a mark out due to some kind of coating or attached plastics. It turned on immediately after inserting the AA battery. Like counting the time. The second dash arrow moves VERY smoothly, no jerking. Very pretty! The arms do NOT easily attach to the shaft as one might expect. I find the mount shaft a bit short. My disappointment: there is no start/stop switch like the unit it replaces. This device was converted into the 35 year old SUNBEAM No. 882-1163 from Springfield Instrument Co. I had to use some original parts as the ones that came with the kit just didn't fit.
