Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ High-Performance MOSTPLUS Ignition Distributor & Harness: LT1-Compatible for Chevy Camaro, Caprice, Corvette โ€“ Replace 1104032 by Justin Bradford

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Cheap parts are cheap for a reason.

My first order came with an obviously used device. Everything is greasy outside. I opened it up and the underside of the lid was quite dirty from having run it for a while and the plastic lid under the rotor was cracked and burned from an arc. I'm sure whatever it was didn't work out well. But most importantly, the company (not Revain) sent an obviously used item. The replacement arrived looking practically new. The pins on the optical sensor were slightly misaligned and required some bending. I took it apart and reassembled it before installing it and added blue threadlock to all fasteners. I noticed that the weather bag end of the included jumper was not attached in the same way as the factory part (see picture). I had to use the factory case because. I broke off the clip on the optical end of the factory jumper. When I disassembled the end of the weather pack to swap it for the correct one, I noticed that the insulators on individual wires were incorrectly crimped (in the attached picture the factory kit is gray and yellow is what means "Bridge Plus"). No retrofitting without crimping new ends. Sigh. Everything is connected, there is a spark, but there is no fuel. So there is no high-resolution output. I had another GM opti from a different engine so I opened it up and replaced the unnamed sensor with a nice Mitsubishi sensor in the OE opti. Finally it works. For those who follow me, I got two non-working Optis from this reseller and ended up having to build my own to get a working solution. It's not a great experience. However, since the gaskets are pretty tight it snapped in and the thing "mostly" worked after spending some time with it, it's good for two stars not one.

Pros
  • Cool item
Cons
  • Small change
