I did not expect this yarn to be dyed, but I warn you against it. I have ordered several different colors and so far the dark gray has bled the most when wet blocking. I don't feel that the color will wear off with wear as I didn't notice anything while knitting the product, but was a bit disappointed that I didn't know about it beforehand. Also, this yarn is very cool. It's thinner than I wanted but it's very soft and everyone enjoys their gifts. In many of my projects I doubled the yarn so that the scarf needed 4-6 skeins and the hat 2-3 skeins, doubled. Definitely not cheap, even for alpaca wool, in my experience. Although it's definitely alpaca wool. All in all I will continue to buy it for projects due to availability and availability, but it is no better than the wool from my local alpaca farm in my opinion.
