USB Hub Extender has worked fine for me for a couple of years. I set it up so that all my various peripherals are in a closet about 25 feet from me and so there are unsightly cables on the table. My computer's bandwidth only works for USB 1.0. So to connect cameras and other devices, which work best with USB 2.0, I still have to connect them directly to my computer. Note that this is a 5v power supply. While rearranging my closet I accidentally plugged it into one of the 10v power supplies that come with another unit and it blew out the power strip/hub . I'm about to buy another one.
