At first I thought I would have to use this to develop arm strength. It looked pretty easy, but I couldn't open it wide enough to hit a cherry. Looking for direction on the box. After some dizziness and fumbling by my husband, we read the box again. Simple one-hand operation. nope Latches closed for compact storage. Aha! There is a small handle on the back that you can push to open and pull to lock. One star off because I didn't put that on the box anywhere. It's very durable and now works great with one hand (as long as it's unlocked).
