Good quality bearing puller/puller at a good price

Bought a TUSK bearing puller for a motorcycle restoration. Overall, the build quality of this bearing puller kit is very good. I had to purchase 35mm and 40mm mandrels separately to pull the upper and lower headset bearings on my Kawasaki frame as the OD of these bearing rings is recessed into the frame tube that supports them. first, and this process could be simplified with more detailed instructions, so here are some tips. You need to place a pick on the race (or bearing) you want to pull out and press it firmly against the rail. This is necessary because on my first attempt the mandrel went through the bearing raceway without removing the bearing. But the edge of the scraper on the mandrel was not damaged at all. Therefore, make sure that the mandrel is firmly seated on the bearing. Another helpful tip: First insert the mandrel without the hammer attached. Tighten the mandrel firmly, doing your best to keep the mandrel well aligned with the bearing or rail, and then insert/tighten the slide hammer into the mandrel. If attempting to install a mandrel with the slide hammer installed, you should have a third hand to hold the heavy end of the slide hammer during installation as this will make it very difficult to get the mandrel into good alignment. Finally, of course, it's always a good idea to apply some heat to the housing or bracket that holds the bearing or race. Overall, the product is very well made and serves its purpose. I used the two largest mandrels made for this tool; The 35mm and 40mm mandrels in my project both required fairly hard hits with a dead pop hammer to loosen the bearing races and the bearing puller worked great.
