I was very impressed with the quality of these pens. I'm doing a big renovation of the apartment and for that I have to buy a lot of things. In an attempt to control costs, I was looking for an inexpensive pen that looked attractive. These Avalon pens certainly looked the part in the photos, but until you feel them in your hands you have no idea what they really are. These pens are beautifully made! Heavy, great hand feel, impeccable workmanship; They look way more expensive than their $30 price tag. I needed latch handles (privacy) for three doors and didn't need a lock on the one leading to the closet door. I thought it was a "dummy" so I ordered it not knowing that the "privacy" handle can also be installed as a "pass-through" handle (without a lock). When my installer installed the doorknob, he told me that the mannequin (that I gave him for the closet) would not fit because it had two handles. We both thought the box must have been packed incorrectly. I emailed Avalon Sales and explained my problem. I got a great explanation very quickly saying that the 'wrong' handles are to be fitted on French doors that don't have a deadbolt. That I need a "Privacy/Pass" handle that I ordered for three others. doors. I felt pretty stupid for my mistake, but I want to stress that the representative who replied to me never made me feel that way. The person was very helpful, friendly and supportive. He/she provided photos so I could understand the explanation. Any worker, having seen the installed bays, notes their beauty and quality. And every neighbor who came to see how the renovation was going on complimented them, touched them and turned them over. They all noticed the same thing I did (weight, spin feel and grip in hand). I am very very happy with Avalon products and will look for them again in the future. And thank you to the company for hiring such nice, helpful people.
