Wrong latches, bad instructions

I put a latch on the double swing doors. The main body and breech cover are well made, so I gave it two stars instead of one. BUT plain Phillips head screws are supplied for the latch cover when the square holes in the cover are clearly intended for carriage bolts as supplied for the main latch body. Exposed Phillips screws break any blockage as they can be easily removed; Carriage bolts with a nut inside would be MUCH more secure. The instructions call for 1 inch from the door edge on the main latch body and 1/2 inch on the latch cover; this results in VERY brief engagement of the latch bolt with the cover and no engagement at all if the gap between the two edges is greater than 1/4 inch. The offset must be 1/2" at the main latch body and 1/4" at the latch cover to ensure proper latch engagement.
