Connects a Mac (iMac, MacMini) to a 4K HDTV for use as display and speakers (System Preferences>>Sound). Pretty good for what it's used for, however, there are some incompatibility issues. Used during all macOS updates that require a reboot. This adapter causes the update to fail. The solution to this problem is to disable the adapter during any updates that require a reboot. In my experience (on iMac and MacMini), other attached peripherals and accessories (printers, scanners, cameras, mice, Wacom tablets, etc.) do not work. affect the update process. Other than that, this adapter works as expected, but it's worth noting the update issue. Good adapter, but not outstanding.
