I've been using this for 4 months and recently the image has been flickering, crashing and reconnecting. Also some digital interference. I've tried multiple HDMI cables and monitors and identified the issue with this 4K Mini Displayport to HDMI Adapter. I would be very grateful to the seller for a replacement and will revise my review.

Works with 2013 MacBook Air and Acer K272HUL monitor. In OS X, the monitor is treated like a TV by default, so the resolution is capped at 1920x1080, colors are washed out, and there's a lot of blowouts (which can be easily adjusted in the system preferences). Finally paid Apple taxes and got a new 2017 27-inch iMac, but it doesn't require a port for an HDMI connection. You have to specify what iMac it's running on. Take part of the hit for not knowing the mac, assume the iMac isn't an iMac so beware. Need for another adapter go back

Everything worked fine at first. About a month and a half later, it stopped transmitting sound (immediately after the return window closed. >:/ . Of course). At the time of this review, less than 3 months later (purchased on October 21st), it doesn't transmit any sound or picture, even if the computer recognizes that it's connected to something and the TV does too. I tried another computer and only tested the cable on the 3rd computer with no problems (on the same TV).

I bought this at the end of February and it has been working fine for about a month and today (just as the return period for this unit has expired) it has suddenly completed stopped working. I didn't even use it that much, maybe only about 10 times before it broke. I've had other converters that lasted over a year so clearly this one is just cheaply made and not built to last (looks like many others have the same issue).

Read reviews. Bought. lasted maybe a week. The wires on the Thunderbolt port adapter (after carefully disassembling the entire assembly) were soldered to just a few microwires. Pulling an HDMI cable connected to this adapter would actually disable any of these adapters (regardless of the manufacturer, of which there are many) within minutes. Works as hoped. I recently bought a Surface Pro 4 for my work PC and occasionally work from home. I have a 40 inch Samsung 4K UHD TV that I use as a home monitor. The monitor only has HDMI inputs and the SP4 only has a miniI Displayport output. This adapter worked to give me 4K, 3840 x 2160, 30p output on my TV, again as I was hoping for.
