Over the decades I've lost some money due to various oil filter wrenches not working or not sitting in the right place. I have one of those generic orange plastic oil filter caps, and guess what. She's too fat to fit in. I also have one of those tape clips that slip open, but guess what? There is no place to use it. I've used a slip-joint pipe wrench for decades and just squeeze the filter out of hell to pick it up and take it off. I mean I change the oil anyway, who cares if the oil filter looks nice as long as it comes off right? This is wedge pliers specially made for oil filters, EXCELLENT! It's a good size for my Chevy V8 and the knurled end of the pliers fits snugly into the lugs on the oil filter. In fact, I was so excited about it that I was able to unscrew the oil filter a bit without damaging it. (I'm still changing the oil but wanted to check it out to write this review.) It was so easy to grab and move the oil filter, despite the low pressure switch leaking oil everywhere. Filter (see my photos). I had enough room and space to hold it well without crushing the metal sides of the filter. I will use it every time I change the oil filter in the future.
