Comfortable shoulder straps, nice details, padding, great value for money

Last weekend I bought a RevX hydro pack for a winter hike. I wanted an insulated hose because I was tired of my old backpack getting cold on me. Well, there was snow, but it turned out to be a record temperature of over 60 degrees, so insulation was not necessary! It's well designed and constructed with plenty of handy pockets - plenty of room for day hiking gear. The padded waist belt and chest strap were perfect for hiking - way better than my other pack which put a lot of pressure on my shoulders. Velcro is a fun touch. The quick release hose makes it easy to remove and clean. The bite valve worked well and had a comfortable lid. Friends commented on how good the packaging looked and thought it cost twice as much. The only negative, the son wanted red, and the next was orange. We chose silver which is more interesting than the base black. I'll be taking it skiing this weekend so we'll see how that isolation plays out... Okay I skied as a teenager in low 20F wind blown temperatures and I'm happy to report that the package worked great. I could drink while my son's backpack was freezing. Of course I offered him a few sips. in exchange for a mix. The backpack contained extra gloves, a light jacket, goggles, snacks, and other items. My girlfriend thought it would be a lot more comfortable than her husband's standard backpack for a day of skiing. I feel like I have to take another one because my son will steal mine.

Pros
  • Hydration system
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
