I wanted to eliminate lighters from my life because I didn't like throwing them away after death. So I bought this for less than $7 and it was great! I only use it for candles and the bendable head helps to reach deeper candles. I like that it has a power button as well as a power button that you have to hold down all the time, making it almost impossible to accidentally turn it on. It turns off automatically after 10 seconds or so. Mine came with 3 rods and stayed that way for almost two months with fairly regular use so the battery is really good. The dark parts eventually stick to the sides of the arc/flame part. I just wait about 10 seconds after it turns off and wipe it with a tissue, it comes off easily.
