I've had one of these for over a year now. These types of devices are designed to break a window if your car ever hits the water and starts to sink. But what are the chances of this happening? With all the stories in the news these days about kids and pets being left in overheated cars and people having a hard time breaking windows to get kids or pets out (watch the video, car windows can be tough to break be), I think this is the more likely scenario, so mine is hanging on my keychain. It's always "charged" and all you have to do is push on the window and a small spike concentrates the blow on the window and breaks it.
