I have a 20 year old sealed Velodyne 12" subwoofer that failed and sat for several months while I thought of a solution. I could have it fixed (expensive), I could find a replacement panel amp (expensive, hard to find the right size), I could assemble some parts on eBay (not easy), or I could buy a separate amp (expensive, bulky). I despaired. But then I found this amp. It's loud enough for my purposes (living room music, no cinematic explosions), I had it in my hands the next day and it took a few minutes to set up after removing the guts of the Velodin. It's definitely not as loud as a 1000 watt Velodyne, but who cares, I don't need to break any windows, I just want to hear the lowest octave of my music. It works great, nicely made, it's a TPA3255 with volume control and low pass filter for less than a hundred bucks, I'm happy again.
