Don't think too much

Update Update: I have contacted the seller through the Revain system. The seller responded very quickly; in about 12 hours. I was offered a free replacement pack. Wow! I appreciated the suggested gesture. It really shows the business behind the product. Shipped quickly! Now I have two practically new gates with working handles, and in case my generous dog succumbs to something else, I have other details. I hope it settles down a bit and it won't be necessary. Thanks very much! Update: Well, a year later, my goal succumbed to the rogue dogs. In fact, this has been an ongoing problem for several months, but we were able to get everything working until a few days ago. The plastic hooks broke but we replaced them. The handles succumbed to a good nudge from my younger dog. He is a Border Collie McNab and can jump over the gate but this time he missed the handles and broke. Another reviewer posted a photo of a crack near the screw mount. Here's what happened to mine. I messaged the seller because I only wanted to buy pens. I found in the Q&A section that there is a replacement kit, but I don't want to buy all the parts, just the grips. As soon as I get an answer I will contact customer service. I still like this gate and would buy one or similar that retracts. Original Review: When the gate arrived I was happy to install it. I bought one for the stairs and one for the kitchen entry to keep the grandchildren and dogs out of what they're doing when it comes to daring or eating. I opened the packages and found many pieces of hooks and fasteners, a large bag containing two screws and dowels of various sizes, templates, "instructions" and gates. So many add-ons and templates have shown more room for detail than is actually needed. I'm thankful for the extras because a dog chewed on a pair. I was thinking too much and got confused thinking that I had to attach two different pieces in order for the gate to be attached. I couldn't find a piece that matched either of the top two locations in the pattern and there were different numbers. I had to go and put reality on hold. When I came back I realized I was seeing an image of a hook in different applications, either facing outwards or placed flush with the wall. I placed the hooks outwards because I thought it would be too easy for the grandkids to push the gate handle away from the hook and disengage it when flush mounted. The roll side template was easy and I just had to decide whether to place it in the door or on the wall of the door. Different sized bolts are chosen depending on whether you need anchors or hooks and rollers to insert into the bolts. I broke a screw, but there were enough spares for a mistake or two. I suggest pre-drilling as the screws are not the best quality. So far, once installed, they keep children and pets at bay. Oh, they're still silly, tormenting and begging for food, but the chaos is contained and my heart doesn't jump from my chest when the younger one tries to follow the siblings up and down the stairs with the cats and dogs in the load mix . What I really like about them is that they retract when we don't need them and are relatively unobtrusive to kids and pets, unlike other gates.
