Review on High Accuracy Digital Water Tester Pen – pH Meter with 0-14 pH Measurement Range for Drinking Water, Plants, and Swimming Pools - Yellow by Nicole Soto

Simple and practical: test, measure and verify

Remove the cap, press the on button and put the end into the liquid. That's all you have to do. This meter is more convenient than using pH paper (more convenient than turning around to order a new pack of test strips every time) and provides more consistent results. My daughter and I tested an electronic pH meter with paper test strips for a variety of liquids: tap water, some acids, some bases, and a few unknowns. The results were generally consistent, with the gauge giving more consistent results than matching strips of paper to a color chart. We had a little hiccup in our testing: we mixed a soil sample with water and filtered it out. The meter showed no reading at all for the sample. We used the meter on one of our other samples to make sure we didn't break it, then tried again with the bottom water. Still unreadable. I don't know what to do with it. Important note: I am not a chemist or chemical engineer, my daughter is in high school and we had no known pH samples. We tested substances from around the house, such as: B. distilled white vinegar, which has a pH range of 2.5 to 9.5. I'm sure I can use it for home chemistry labs (that's why I got it), but I can't say if it's suitable for professional use or if you need to be sure of the accuracy of the readings. I'm not saying it _doesn't_ fit, I just can't tell.

Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it promises
