Actual jacking force (based on my own real world testing) is closer to half a ton (or less). Consequently, I couldn't raise the front quarter of my 2005 Volkswagen Passat TDI Wagon (i.e. to simulate a tire change), but I was able to raise the rear quarter on the same vehicle (again, to simulate a tire change). For reference, the OEM spec curb weight for the front of my vehicle (dry weight, curb weight) is 2108 lbs. The equivalent curb weight for the rear of my car is 1411 pounds. If we factor in the loaded fuel tank and additional equipment in the rear of the car, the actual curb weight of the rear of the car is around 1600lbs, meaning I was able to successfully lift around 800lbs (d all 4 wheels).
