The paint on most vehicles' plastic bumper covers is extremely brittle. Therefore, light tapping will result in a large black scar. I taped a couple of these onto the rear bumper of our new C-Max. They look pretty "normal" and I think they might prevent some of those nasty stains that are inevitable if you ever park your car on a public street or in a parking lot. Tip: My other car (Nissan Leaf) has a couple of these little scars on the bumper within a week of being new. Too late to protect all of the bumper paint but I used these pads to cover up the marks!
