These knee pads are very light and comfortable to step on. The straps help them stay in place. Know that these are hard pads. Unfortunately I have to test them for accidents. The parts of my body that weren't covered with protective gear were bruised and scratched. The knee pads were torn and threads were sticking out. It shows me how badly I fell. But my knees were completely protected. I am grateful that I invested in them. The only downside is how loud they are and how hot they are. And I haven't tested them in warmer weather yet, but I'm sure they will be sweaty and hot. Otherwise they are great and worth the money. UPDATE After 5 months of use the pads worked great. I think since I started riding more aggressively I've had a couple of situations where my flat pedal tore my back calf. Unfortunately he ripped the back of that seal last week. Huge disadvantage if this happens to you often. Otherwise great pads. The other pads I've bought are much beefier in the back. Look into the alpinestars volcano. Chunky but fairly durable for soft pads.
