I was concerned about the glass curtains on our ceiling fans. They have metal pins inside that push out to keep the screen secure. These cages fit right onto the pins and I tightened the screws around them. Pretty safe and you don't really notice the silver pins unless you're a few inches away and looking for it. For $20, it saved me the significant expense and hassle of replacing builder-installed ceiling fans and gave us a quick way to pick up other industrial equipment we were replacing. Looks the same as the other pics people have posted. Updated to include a picture of the cage above the metal prongs taken from a foot away. Works perfect.
