Review on πŸ“· Compact System Lens: Canon EF-M 22mm f2 STM by Ai Fitira ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A valuable purchase, some advantages!

As a lover of Canon photography and the owner of a 5D Mark III, I decided to buy a compact camera and took the only mirrorless camera from Canon at that time, complete with two lenses 22mm and 18-55mm, a flash and an adapter for EF lenses. Fortunately, at that time firmware 2.02 had already been released, in which the focusing speed was increased and I was satisfied with the operation of the camera, unlike those who wrote devastating reviews on carcasses with previous versions. EF-M 22 F2.0 in terms of 35mm, which is a universal distance for shooting many scenes, while having good aperture, which allows it to be used indoors, including when there is not enough space. With this "pancake", the camera becomes more like a soap dish and does not attract too much attention. In addition, it becomes as compact as possible and easily fits in a bag or even in a pocket. I use 22mm as a regular lens, and sometimes I carry 18-55 with me, as well as EF40mm F2.8 STM and EF50 F1.8 with an EF to EF-M adapter, which allows me to shoot portraits at more familiar ("correct") focal lengths .

Pros
  • Sharp in the open, good background blur, compact, metal body
Cons
  • Haven't found it yet.

A very good, sharp lens for shooting indoors - that's it.
