3080 FE: lower storage temperature, increased hash rate

Cut carefully, you have room for maybe a mistake. I forgot to include a picture of this page AFTER, but I literally just replaced the stock 1:1 pads, nothing more, nothing less. Place the pads directly on the board itself on this side, you want them to rest when you lower the board onto them. Press down slightly to ensure they are securely fastened and will not move. I used 5 dot thermal paste on a chip, the Kryonaut residue, maybe 6 months old, did NOT bleed, although I can recommend smearing others as the way you lower the board onto the pads, tends to be slanted, allowing more connections to be pushed to one side of the matrix. However, my results are fine with 5-point corners and a center point. BACK: Use 1 pack of 3mm. Cut carefully if you run out, it doesn't matter, just make sure you cover any replacement pads before proceeding to cover the extra/optional areas. This side is generally less important as there are very few ICs and I believe there are NO memory ICs, but the better you cover the components that generate heat the better. On this side, you place the pads directly on the board components, not on the board. Again, this is to ensure that the part you are lowering doesn't have any floating pads that could shift or fall off during placement. GENERAL: I used a spatula of thermal grease to safely scrape off old thermal pads. I used 99% isopropyl alcohol with paper tower pieces to remove the old thermal paste. I didn't bother to remove the adhesive from the old thermal pads. Sorry I forgot to take a photo of the front/side AFTER but if you're confused just remember I made an EXACT replacement for what was on the last standard cover so look at the stock photo and imagine that there are gray pads instead of flimsy white trifles. I "think" that 2mm would probably fit the back too, but I went with 3mm and swage it like other people have done. If you want to use 2mm for the front and back there is a much larger sheet of this product. You can get almost double the material for the same price, but it's all 2mm. If you do, be sure to add a rating to your results. Good luck, buy with confidence, they work if you are diligent and get it right. It took me about 2-3 hours, most of the time was spent carefully trimming the pads to size.
