I bought a new deadbolt electronic lock for our (fancy, stained glass) front door and found that it required more opening than the previous lock. Since drilling a large hole usually requires a center to hook the drill and there was only one hole, I bought this block to frame the hole and center the new hole properly. It worked (almost) well. The only complaint was that the unit fell apart when placed on a door; The flanges that center the main hole were not flush with the door when the unit was installed and the edge connector bolted on. If the rim was adjustable, like the depth of the side flanges, that would be perfect for my needs.
