This is a great standard cookware. This would be great for those who are just starting out, or those who have lost half of their kitchen appliances, or if you are just replacing or adding to them. I chose this set because it has everything you need. A slotted spoon lets you pick up food when you don't need liquid while protecting your nonstick surfaces from scratches. An angular spatula-like tool allows you to use it as a spatula and to turn food, as well as the perfect tool for scraping "tasty treats" when deglazing, chef. The spoon is ideal for stirring and tasting any mixture. These are holding up well so far. They wash well by hand. Of course I don't put it in the dishwasher, that would be crazy. They are solid, feel good in the hand and are the right size - not too big and not too small. They fit easily in my drawers, as does my crockery vase. OXO generally does really good stuff. I've been lucky in everything, I've bought a lot of stuff from them so I trust the company and the design seems well thought out by the people who actually cook. Much luck!
