Review on ๐Ÿงต Clover 9506 5 in 1 Sliding Gauge: The Ultimate Sewing Tool by Nancy Zieman by Carrie Spencer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Money well spent

I bought this a few months ago when I decided to move from simple mending to sewing to real creations. I have since recommended it to a friend and bought another one as a gift. This little device saved me from having to buy 4 separate devices (5 if I ever need a compass). Its construction is stronger than the alternative at my local sewing store and it's incredibly easy to use. I needed to add seam allowances to a 39" x 78" project and this made it very easy and a lot quicker than I expected; I never had to put the guides back into their original position because they have a locking mechanism that requires you to purposefully press the release button to take the guide to a new dimension. I like that it has two rulers - a static one at the top and an adjustable one a little lower, which allowed me to always make straight marks, and in the case of a loop, 2 marks at a time. I used the buttonhole feature to mark the size and position where the ribbon will come out of the gift bag. I simply placed the tape on the sensor, moved the ruler to the underside of the tape and transferred it to the fabric to make marks. Again, it was very easy to make repeated marks for different gift bags without worrying about re-measuring as it snaps into place. The small gap in the middle allowed me to mark a straight line down the middle to guide me between the ends of the buttonhole. I even used it at Christmas to wrap my present. I highly recommend adding this concept to your sewing kit.
