Review on πŸš€ Dorman 699-101 Accelerator Pedal Sensor - Compatible with a Wide Range of Models by Robert Kimble

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far, so good. Considerations for everyone else.

Mine is working fine so far, but here's the thing: a) Don't assume the pedal position sensor is the problem. There's a lot of stuff going on in the drive-by-wire system, and unless you have diagnostic software that monitors PPS setpoint, TPS voltages, etc. while driving, you could be barking up the wrong tree. Regular OBD-II will NOT work, it must be GM specific. Don't think P1516 is a pedal position sensor. b) After replacing any component in this system, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY for half an hour. You have to eliminate all the bad things that the ECU has learned. THEN you have to let the truck relearn everything. So if something breaks or gives out codes during the first half hour of work, especially if it contains non-original things, just clean it up and move on. Half an hour of relearning, then you can decide whether it's good or not.

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to
Cons
  • ill thought out
