I am disappointed in this purchase as 3 out of 5 were bad. I guess I wouldn't mind if only 1 was bad as that kind of quality control is guaranteed for items this cheap. The 2 working parts seem to work well when triggered by the movement of my whole body. However, at a distance of a few feet, a simple vigorous up and down motion of the hand will not produce a motion output, but a step in any direction will produce a motion output. This can be useful if you only want to recognize people and not pets. Otherwise, usage is similar to other motion sensors. At least 3 wires are needed; Vcc, Gnd and Out. Easy connection.
