I used it to replace my old bilge pump on my boat. At first the pump wouldn't turn off. I called support and no one answered. After several attempts I sent a nasty email. So I started looking and found that the wiring was indeed reversed. The ground was grounded but the other two wires were swapped. So I flipped them and it works great! The machine works well, the switch works well. The wire marked to connect the battery was actually for the manual switch, and the wire for the switch was actually for the battery. The only thing that doesn't bother me is the position of the impeller relative to the float. There will always be water on board, but I hope it will be minimal. Many frustrated customers complain about "not shutting down". Try swapping the cables, maybe that will solve the problem.
