EDIT** Funny, I think you were really listening! They changed the blades and made them "two-sided". So I'm not sure why this trainer comes with a backward blade. If you are actually using it to TRAIN a real balisong/butterfly knife then it will do you no good unless you take it apart to modify it. What can you do with this trainer, but it must be properly configured right away. Every butterfly knife in the world, when fully opened and locked, has the blade on the left and the thumb lever on the right. This trainer is the opposite. My guess is that most people don't have a real butterfly knife and just flip their sneakers, which is certainly a good thing, but it still needs to be orientated right out of the box like any real balisong. It's also strange if you look at the photos, some of them line up correctly and some don't. Not sure if they just build them inconsistently but the one I received was the wrong one before I took it apart and fixed it. Another thing is that it seems to be of really good quality and well balanced for turning. It just really annoyed me as I was planning to use it to practice somersaults that I would then do on a REAL butterfly knife blade.
