Review on Cle Line C67202 Standard Straight Wrench by Robert Gilbert

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good quality but not nearly as good as it used to be

Cle-line Tools is the modern name for the old greenfield tapping machine, prized by many machinists for its excellent quality . Unfortunately, this crank is either a cheap imitation of an awesome tool, or the quality and style the brand was known for has dropped dramatically. The classic 240 #5 faucet handle had a slimmer look with heavy teardrop handles, this tool has a pretty poor fit and finish with straight knurled handles. And the machining of the central part of the tool leaves a lot to be desired, with the jaws not neatly adhering to the main body, and the threads for the handles rubbing on the unthreaded part of the handle and showing faint gouges on the black oxide coating. However, it is a solid steel crank with subtly ground jaws that hold all of my faucets very securely. This is way better than the "aluminum" body fitting handles that most companies bundle or sell at the hardware store.

Pros
  • 240 #5 straight thread wrench
Cons
  • Slightly dented
