Review on πŸš— Securely Mount Your Garmin with the Portable Friction Dashboard Mount by Bronson Hussain

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Friction is the best!

If I could give this product 6 stars out of 5, I would. It's just the best. I was looking for a GPS dashboard mount that would stand the test of time and I found it. I did the research for you so you don't have to waste your time. I've tried all sorts of devices and they all worked for a while before breaking or not working at all. It worked for a while but lost suction and fell off while driving. I've tried putting my skewer on the bottom of the sucker to prolong its life and it works for a while before falling off again when I hit a rough road. ** Sticky bottom device ** This idea is terrible. Let me explain why. First, the sticky underside doesn't work on all dashboard surfaces due to the materials used. Second, some of the sticky-bottomed devices I tried were too big, clunky and heavy even before the GPS was installed, some of them falling off the dashboard under their own weight. Any sticky bottom device that can work with a GPS device installed on it will work for a certain amount of time before the stickiness goes away. Even the stickiest sticky gadgets melt in the hot summer or every time you roll up the window and the car gets warm. This would melt the stickiness and weight of the device and the GPS device would tip it over. I can't describe how angry I get every time I leave work only to open my car door and find the damn thing lying on the floor. **Hang the device on the rearview mirror** While I haven't tried this device, I did some research and found that it gradually pulls and pulls on the rearview mirror, requiring you to reset it manually. This gets more annoying than anything else. I've read that it also shakes a lot and isn't stable at all. **Put it in the CD tray** Why would anyone need this? Suction cup, sticky bottom, hang rear view mirror and insert into CD tray. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to disparage them because they all work to some degree. My only issue with them is that they are short lived and/or frustrating. The great thing about the Garmin Friction Dashboard Mount is that it doesn't have any of the above lol. It is non-sticky, non-absorbable and non-hanging. It's friction! The best part? It really works! I don't have to worry about it falling off the dashboard at high temperatures. The rubber platform can be adjusted to fit the shape of your dashboard and the small ball on top holds the GPS device in place so it doesn't wobble or rotate while driving. I'm surprised it doesn't slide on my dashboard. It's very stable. Friction really works!
