No hocus-pocus on car mounts

I've had trouble with car phone mounts. It took me about four to get one that works and suits my needs. So I'm a bit skeptical about claims about mounting fixtures. As for my Garmin, I've decided I'd rather not mount it on the windshield and it looks like I have two options; a beanbag or it's a friction mount. The soft bean felt a bit bulky to me and didn't have a folding mount. My swing was the friction mount. Not on a suction cup, not on glue, not on a vent, not on a CD slot, just frictionโ€ฆ

Portability with issues

I needed a lighter mount with a smaller profile that would fit in my computer case to use my Garmin nรผvi 2555LMT 5 inch handheld GPS while traveling. It definitely meets this requirement. I like my screen in portrait mode so it shows more of what's in front than the side. That's just about enough for a 5-inch device. I don't have room to swivel front and back, it depends on the height of the dashboard for the optimal viewing angle. So far it has been ok for maybe 6 different rental cars. Theโ€ฆ

The Garmin 4-leg friction mount is more stable; that's a waste $

Fu. I had a small 5" old Garmin that I used: Garmin Portable Friction Mount (4ft beanbag) that worked fine. Then I got myself a Garmin 2798LMT Portable GPS 7" which I really like by the way. All 7" Garmins are *B*I*G* (more visible) but heavy on top. With a 4-post friction mount the 7" Garmin fell to the bottom. Maybe there would be more stability. no The 7" Garmin fell EVEN WORSE. I didn't like this model AT ALL! I went back to my original 4 wheel "old true". All of this won't fall off problem

Best mount for my Garmin GPS

I've tried other bobs and suction cup mounts and they all had their pros and cons. Whether it doesn't hold up after a while (especially the suction cups!), is too bulky, or doesn't sit well on the dashboard due to its contour, it shouldn't be frustrating to drive. When I first came across this particular product I bought it straight away - its adjustable base, friction mount and small size allow me to securely place my GPS on my dashboard. The base also adapts perfectly to the contour of myโ€ฆ

I bought this because I travel a lot with my Nuvi and use it for rent. I lost my windshield mug after forgetting it and I can't carry it in my briefcase due to its irregular shape. I recently rented a car in Italy and was told I can't mount my Nuvi on the windshield because it's illegal. I didn't know if that was true or not, or if they were just trying to get me to rent their place on a beanbag for a lot of money. So I moved around with this thing propped up and taped to the dash, but that was

I wanted to like it. Very nice and light but causes vibration.

I REALLY wanted to like this mount; I really knew. When it first came out here, I was impressed by the light weight compared to the Garmin Friction Beanbag Mount (which I still love. Whichever stand you attach to the ball mount, it's a tight fit. So I went out and roughly shaped it.. to the Camry dashboard. Now all I had to do was wait for 2597 to get here. That's where the frustration kicked in. As I drove to let the new GPS initialize some of its functions, it vibrated to the point which wasโ€ฆ

Friction is the best!

If I could give this product 6 stars out of 5, I would. It's just the best. I was looking for a GPS dashboard mount that would stand the test of time and I found it. I did the research for you so you don't have to waste your time. I've tried all sorts of devices and they all worked for a while before breaking or not working at all. It worked for a while but lost suction and fell off while driving. I've tried putting my skewer on the bottom of the sucker to prolong its life and it works for aโ€ฆ
