Not sure I need it

I used a pad under the Safavieh 8x10 mat to keep it in place. However, the carpet felt secure without the padding, and the cushion didn't add any softness underfoot. Considering it was the cheapest pillow I could find I wasn't expecting it to offer extra padding. It was easy to install and was larger than a rug. I just cut it with kitchen scissors. I installed it easily with no creases and the rug stays in place with normal use (no dancing, no active dogs).
