I used a pad under the Safavieh 8x10 mat to keep it in place. However, the carpet felt secure without the padding, and the cushion didn't add any softness underfoot. Considering it was the cheapest pillow I could find I wasn't expecting it to offer extra padding. It was easy to install and was larger than a rug. I just cut it with kitchen scissors. I installed it easily with no creases and the rug stays in place with normal use (no dancing, no active dogs).

I ordered 8x10 and it was too big for my living room rug (7x10) so I was able to cut it and keep it for my other rugs. It seems to work like a big one, but I don't feel any difference. The carpet in the living room still didn't move after the coffee table was placed on it. The bath mat has a non-slip silicone backing, so I don't feel any difference. However, none of the mats are slippery when I use them normally. So I still give it 4 stars.

Works well with what I wanted to do with it. I also brought double-sided carpet tape. My new mats didn't have enough backing to be truly non-slip, so I got creative. Cut the floor mat to be slightly smaller than the rugs. I like the rug because it has tiny holes instead of the big ones you usually see. This mat keeps the rug in place. Very easy to use. However, I was very surprised to see how thin it is. So don't buy this if you're looking for more under-the-rug cushions.
