Bought for the price. If you are new to working on a lathe, these are the chisels you need. No, they are not top notch. These are good chisels and you get 8 of them. Everyone knows that after working a lathe, most of the work is concentrated on a few chisels. This set gives you 8 to use and find out which ones you really like. So if you're throwing really big bucks at it, do it with a part you really need, not one you almost never use. So if you don't care and don't need to have the best regardless of use, this is a great set to start with. I should mention that my favorite scraper was one of the worst assembled chisels. The hole wasn't drilled well so it's tilted to the side. I have to say I love that feeling. I consider it a euro grip chisel because I also tend to have a tail to the side. In any case, it was a very successful purchase.
