easy to install. Drill a 1/8" pilot hole. When replacing an existing viewer, it was a little more difficult to drill, but that has nothing to do with the viewer. The hem is wide enough to fit a Visegrip pliers to really to make snug if you want, but I would make it snug enough to fit snugly against the inner cylinder when the tongs are closed, or you might bend the viewer.I noticed that the center of the image is a bit cloudy , but sharper around the edges. You don't have to get close to see outside and you can't see inside when looking outside except for the light, but it has an eye cover. The first one worked fine, so I bought 4 more and installed 2 for myself and 3 for someone else.
