Arrived damaged, still working

Arrived with a chip and crack. Still running so we used it instead of sending it back during COVID. I would recommend using a step drill when drilling the hole for this from a standard size grommet in a hollow core door. Facilitates alignment. The larger eye's clarity is great, even if ours is cracked.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • So far so good

Easy to fit would buy again

I was a bit intimidated when this type of door arrived as it is quite hefty and larger than a normal door viewer. After drilling a hole for it I just plugged it in and screwed it on and I was done. As simple as it can be. The sight has a lens to close it when not in use; I think it makes the door more elegant with the flap closed.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • disappears

Easy installation, quality and basic home security!

Great peep hole! Well made, looks great and is easy to install yourself. Highly recommended! Tips: Check the size of the smallest adult in the family, use a small drill bit and hit the exact drilling spot with a hammer to create a support for the drill bit to keep your big drill bit from dangling when you start drilling start full starting hole for the small drill, increase the bit size at will. Place this viewer at both the front door and garage entrance (often overlooked).

Pros
  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Gigantic. Good quality. good view

Bought to put a door in the garage as we use it as the main entrance and the kids are used to opening the door not knowing who is knocking. This thing is huge and gives a great wide view. The hinged lid ensures that no one can tell if the light inside is on. I had to use a step drill to make a hole and enlarge it beyond the drilled diameter as my drill bit wasn't designed to cut a steel door. Kids love the novelty of It. They just love looking inside. It is quite possible to clearly see who is…

good viewer good for hardware

easy to install. Drill a 1/8" pilot hole. When replacing an existing viewer, it was a little more difficult to drill, but that has nothing to do with the viewer. The hem is wide enough to fit a Visegrip pliers to really to make snug if you want, but I would make it snug enough to fit snugly against the inner cylinder when the tongs are closed, or you might bend the viewer.I noticed that the center of the image is a bit cloudy , but sharper around the edges. You don't have to get close to see…

Excellent quality, in the end I bought another

Pros: 1. The chrome finish makes it trendy - installed on a white door and looks very nice from the outside.2. The spectator is large, I would call it twice or 2.5 times larger than the traditional single hole.3. The field of view, large size and protrusion from the door allow you to better see behind the door. It also makes it easier for us to find packages without opening the door.4. The privacy screen has the disadvantage of someone being able to notice the light changes inside, but the…

Solid viewer with clear optics

This viewer is solid and relatively easy to install, but you need to know what you're doing. It is important that the mounting hole drilled is orthogonal to the plane of the door surface to allow the viewer to sit flush. I was a little crazy and had to wallow in a hole to get a flush spot on the outside of the door. The viewing side is what you screw on to mount the viewer. It was a bit difficult to tighten the visor as there is nothing to help you tighten the viewer's back. It wasn't clear at…
