Review on Coloring Book for Forest Trails (8.62 x 11.75 inches) by Wendy Rodriguez

I paid full price but I would have paid double!

I wish ALL adult coloring pages were like this! I had to buy this coloring book (Forest Paths by Katherine Marlin) after buying Garden Paths and falling in love with it. I'm addicted to coloring books and in my opinion these two books are just as good as Joanna Basford's books. (or better yet, no 2-4 pages to deal with with the standard color binding.) The images are all single-sided and beautiful, the paper is thick and ragged, and each lends itself to decoration. I LOVE the 2 clear plastic sleeves that come with each book. They're heavy enough to last forever. There is one that protects the half-finished cover, so you can complete it by reflecting the colors and your work will be protected and displayed! There is another reusable protective film that is easy to peel off and can be used behind the artwork you are creating. Now I use them in ALL my coloring books. No more worrying about feathered markers or pen pressure spoiling the next page! The spiral binding is great too! Just choose your design, open it and fall into the forest. The book lies flat so you don't have to worry about the binding that is so annoying with other adult coloring books. (TIP #1: I take any of my favorite Staples or Office Depot coloring books to have them spiral bound. I've been told you can make a coloring book for $3-4 a piece. Tip #2: Don't (do not cut the pages out of the binding of your book use a hair dryer or a hot iron on the binding first. The pages will easily separate from the binding so you don't lose anything!). The forest paths and garden paths have spoiled me. Spiral binding is AMAZING! In addition, the spiral binding makes it very easy to make copies on paper of different weights depending on what media you are using, or so that you can create each image in different colors until you find your favorite. Try THAT with books bound the usual way! The last big thing about these two books. There are several "tips" for using these books. My favorite is the one that explains how to use some images as Facebook BANNER! They are just the right size for a Facebook banner (the background image on your page). What a great way to show off your bathroom work and let all your friends know that you love this hobby! Long story short (Oh, too late!) I LOVE these books and I know you do too!

Cons
  • Not bad but...
