I got this gate system to keep my dog confined after spinal surgery. I bought several gates and extensions for different doors. One of the openings I have is very big and it's often difficult to find a good gate for it. This system is a high quality heavy metal construction with a very good locking mechanism. And it has a beautiful look. It was relatively easy to assemble and withstood normal traffic. That being said, I was under the impression when he said it would fit a hole "up to" a certain size, meaning the size was up to the max and there was room for plus or minus. In fact, this is the exact size with only a centimeter gap at the screw mounts. Also, I was under the impression that it would not require drilling. It's probably my fault for not reading the fine print. Just so you all know, this will require drilling and the bits that go through the walls will reduce the size of your hole so measure carefully and accurately. The gate I got for my smaller opening barely fit, but when I put the hardware in, it didn't fit no matter how hard I pushed. You wouldn't think a tiny thickness like a washer would improve or break a fit - in my case it did. Also - I used extensions on my wider bore and 5 bar was too big, but 2 bar was too small. I connected two of the two poles together, but it's a little less strong when so many are together. A 3 or 4 bar option would be useful for more choice. I also thought it was a bit overpriced but there weren't many options as I wanted a metal structure with a decorative touch. It would be nice to have a setting that allows you to keep part of the gate open. It would also be nice to have a bit more leeway with the measurements and not be so precise. And finally, an added bonus is the elimination of drilling. All in all, considering these things, I recommend this product.
